Christian Merli testing at the Salita del Costo

The action starts again on Sunday with the 30th Salita del Costo in Vicenza province in northeastern Italy. A single race run of 9.910 km with ten hairpins, starting in Cogollo del Cengio and finishing in Bramonte. It is the first round of the northern Italy hill climb trophy, the TIVM Zona Nord.
The last one to take the start, sporting the number 1, will be Christian Merli. The 2021 European champion has got his Avon-shod Osella FA 30 Zytek LRM ready just in time.

Christian’s comments
“It will be a test to prepare for the first round of the European championship in France on 10 April. Every season you start again from scratch. We have just finished celebrating last year’s victory, and now we’re back behind the wheel.”

It was the third European title for the Scuderia Vimotorsport driver from Trentino.
“In Milan, Autosport magazine awarded us the prestigious Casco d’Oro. Then we went to Zurich for the prizegiving ceremony of the FIA, the International Automobile Federation, and on to Trento for the AC event. It was a great season with five victories and the fabulous overall win at the FIA Masters.”
