Christian Merli racing the Osella 4C Turbo in Tuscany
On Sunday Christian Merli will be racing at the 2nd Trofeo Coppa della Consuma at Diacceto near Florence in Tuscany. It is the first round of the northern/central Italy hill climb trophy. The reigning European hill climb champion will be behind the wheel of the Osella 4C Turbo.
“While we’re waiting for the European Hill Climb Championship to start, we’ve decided to race on this 8.450 km track to test the new E2-SC 2000 Osella 4C Turbo. Let me say that I’ve never raced here. I’ve seen a few onboard videos; the track is medium-fast and very nice. Two practice runs and just one race run. I’m keen to see what this car can do. It has a Peugeot 1170 cc turbo engine with about 400 hp and weighs 500 kg. I raced it in the Canary Islands when the prototype was barely finalised, and we’ll see how much it has improved.”
