Victory and record for Christian Merli in Cividale/Friuli

The fourteenth victory this season for Christian Merli behind the wheel of the Osella FA 30 Judd LRM. The Scuderia Vimotorsport driver wins both race heats at the 46th Cividale – Castelmonte at Udine, the third last round of the northern Italy hill climb trophy.

“A great race on a beautiful day. After the first race heat I wasn’t happy with the changes we’d made to the setup and the transmission. Before the second race heat we restored our Osella to the settings we’d had in practice, and although we were racing with used tyres, everything worked perfectly. This is also the new record for the track with three chicanes.”

Merli comes in first in both practice runs on Saturday.

The Osella factory driver tops the timesheet in the first race run and again in the second.
