Christian Merli racing at Gubbio
After his victory in Poland with the Osella FA 30 Zytek LRM, Christian Merli is travelling to Gubbio in central Italy to race at the 56th Trofeo Fagioli, the seventh round of the Italian hill climb championship CIVM. Two race heats on a track which is just over 4 km long and has a difference in height of 270 m.
“It won’t be easy,” says the champion from Trentino, “because my direct opponents will be very motivated. I enjoy a challenge and we’ll try our best on this 4.156 km track. It starts at Gubbio and it’s very special; you take every little error with you to the finish line. A very fast race with bends which have a very wide radius, and three hairpins in the final section, where your driving has to be perfect. We won here in 2019 and also last year, when we established a new track record in 1’32”31.”
